![]() ![]() The combat was starting to click with me on my first play through, but I was still kinda button mashing. I was probably about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way through the main campaign and decided to restart, so I could get all the Achievements I had missed. I'm playing on the Xbox One X and there is (unless they recently patched it) a save glitch that doesn't save Achievement progress unless you save the game a certain way and exit out of the game completely. Once it clicks though, the combat is very satisfying. Fainting moves is also very important in deceiving your opponent and memorizing a few combos helps out as well. The key to melee combat is figuring out the rhythm and timing of blocking, parrying and counter attack moves. The melee combat and archery combat seem rather clunky and unforgiving at first, but once you figure out the aiming in archery and the timing and flow of the melee combat, you realize the first person combat in KCD is leagues better, deeper and more realistic than say the Elder Scrolls series. Don't listen to the haters in this thread.
